Department Overview
The Human Resources department at Children's partners with the employees and the managerial staff to provide services such as recruitment and staffing, employee services (benefit, compensation, retirement, and payroll processing), labor relations, HRIS program development and implementation, and organizational development.
Position Description
Children's MN is seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient HR Technical Specialist to
support key operational and compliance processes related to Leave of Absence (LOA)
administration, payroll auditing, short-term disability coordination, and HRIS system configuration.
This role will work closely with the Leave of Absence, Payroll, Benefits, and HRIS teams to ensure
employees on leave are supported accurately and compliantly, with a strong focus on system audits
and data integrity with Ultimate Kronos Group (UKG) and compliance with the State of Minnesota
Paid Family Medical Leave Law.
Qualifications:
Education and experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, or related field preferred.
• 3+ years of HRIS and LOA administration, or auditing experience in a healthcare or large
organizational setting.
• Experience working with LOA processes and short-term disability programs.
• Experience working with UKG (formerly Kronos), including configuration preferred.
Technical Skills:
• Proficient in using UKG for HR, Payroll, and LOA/Benefit processes.
• Basic query writing and reporting experience.
• Experience testing benefit and payroll interface files and workflows.
• Comfortable with audits, case documentation, and process troubleshooting.
Core Competencies:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a high attention to detail.
• Confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive employee information.
• Excellent organization and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred qualifications:
• Healthcare or hospital HR experience.
• Knowledge of FMLA, ADA, and State of Minnesota laws.
• Prior participation in UKG implementation or optimization projects
The posted salary represents a market competitive range based on salary survey benchmark data for similar roles in the local or national market. When determining individual pay rates, we carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, internal equity and organizational needs.
In addition to your salary, this position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other fringe benefits. Positions that require night, weekend or on-call work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay.
